Funding is rarely refused because of a project. It is refused because of a file — because a figure is missing, because the risk has not been dealt with, because nothing tells the funder why the numbers hold up. Here is how we build it, and how far we go with you.
Three deliberate choices, and they explain most of our decisions.
A bank, a public body or an investor: each assesses a file in its own language. We prepare a funding-ready memo, built so that a credit committee can decide on the file alone — which is what happens in 9 files out of 10, because the branch that receives the file is not the one that decides.
Handing over a file and disappearing is worth nothing: the file lives on during the assessment. We stay until the money is released — questions from the relationship manager, additional documents, the committee stage.
Our fee is the fee for the file: it depends neither on the amount obtained, nor on the institution that funds you. We receive no commission — the funding search, should you want one, goes to a partner registered with ORIAS.
The word is used everywhere. Here is what it covers in practice, and what you are entitled to demand of any provider.
Projected profit and loss account and balance sheet, monthly cash-flow tables, funding plan. Not three years, not a straight-line projection: five financial years, with seasonality and payment lags.
DSCR — the ability to cover debt service — and analysis of operating cash flow, plus the structure and gearing ratios. These are the ones the analyst recalculates anyway: better to present them.
What becomes of the business if turnover falls? At what level does repayment no longer work? A file that answers that question before it is asked changes status — how far the downside is tested depends on each file.
From the first question to the transfer into the account.
Ten questions, no appointment. The same for everyone: it determines which package you need — sometimes none, if the file has to be put right first. Available in French only.
You choose your package directly — Essentielle, Standard or Premium. Or you ask for a meeting, booked online or arranged by call-back: the package is then chosen at the end of the conversation.
When it takes place, it is there to discuss the file and its feasibility before you sign up — most useful for Standard and Premium. Never imposed.
50% paid on order.
Until the documents requested are complete, the drafting does not start. Video or phone catch-ups may punctuate the work as needed.
Forecast, memo, and so on. The remaining 50% is settled, then the whole file is sent by download link.
If you wish, we put you in touch with a dedicated broker (a partnership — no intermediation by Novaris). In every case, we carry on supervising the file and making the adjustments needed until the money is released.
Three kinds of deliverable, not a pile of documents. Calibrating for a bank or for public bodies is not a fourth one: it is the way the three are addressed.
What the business will produce, spend, collect and repay over five years.
The same numbers, condensed for a reader who has twenty minutes and fifteen files on the desk.
Why these numbers hold up. This is what almost every refused file is missing.
Knowing exactly where an engagement starts and stops is worth more than a misunderstanding at signature.
No law obliges a business to entrust its bookkeeping to an accountant: depending on your tax regime and your size, you may keep the books yourself. What the law restricts is keeping them on behalf of others — so we do not do it. If you wish to delegate, we work with partner French chartered accountants (experts-comptables).
You approach your banks yourself, or you go through our partner broker registered with ORIAS. Either way we follow the assessment through, and either way we receive no commission: Novaris carries out no intermediation in banking operations.
A complete, readable and defensible file, in which every foreseeable ground for refusal has been dealt with before submission. The decision itself belongs to the funder: nobody can honestly promise you will obtain the money.
If the Score shows that a blocking point must be put right before any approach, we say so and we wait. Presenting a file too early burns a bank for nothing — and you are still a client six months later.
Ten questions, no document to provide, no appointment. A score out of 100 that measures one thing above all: whether your project is feasible — what is blocking it, and what has to be put right before you present yourself.
